What a fabulous SOBER weekend! My man and I had a nice spa weekend full of couples massages and lots of cuddle time. Typically this would also be filled with wine or champagne, however I resisted the temptation. This is truly my 7th day without drinking (4th for the Sobvember Challenge) and I feel so refreshed and clear!
Share of the Day:
Before leaving for the weekend, I had a chance to sneak in a quick project. We have a few pumpkins leftover from Halloween and I decided to make use of them. I first made them into pumpkin puree then into a homemade pumpkin enzyme face mask and crustless pumpkin pie. The pumpkin pie did not turn out very well, so I will save you all and not post the recipe on here :). The mask on the other hand, is amazing!
Pumpkin Enzyme Mask:
This mask is very popular during the fall time and also very expensive! Spare yourself the $100 that you would spend on a facial and just create the mask at home. It's very easy and just as effective at home as it is at the spa. I basically followed the recipe on this site with my own modifications. You will need:
- 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree (preferably steamed from a raw pumpkin however canned will do)
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 1 Teaspoon Honey
- 1/4 Cooked Oatmeal (optional)
1. Prepare the pumpkin in a small bowl (steam pumpkin chunks for 20 min, scrape away skin, blend until smooth)
2. Add cinnamon, milk, honey, and cooked oatmeal to puree
3. Mix all ingredients with spoon, blend if you would like a smoother consistency
4. Store in a cute container and keep refridgerated to preserve the ingredients :)
To Use:
Apply skin for 5 -7 minutes, rinse away with luke warm water.
Note that this WILL make your face red! This redness is because the mask is packed with active essential nutrients and vitamins (enzymes, Vitamin A & C). Pumpkin increases cell turnover rate, and promotes healthy production of collagen and elastin, perfect for smoothing out wrinkles, lines, and improving tone and texture.
Enjoy!
